This baby metal dragon is ready to fly! Hand forged entirely from aluminum, this one-of-a-kind metal dragon sculpture was created in the chaos of the Colonial Metalworks shop and hammered into life through many hours of hand-shaping, TIG welding, and grinding. Every scale, claw, and curve is cut and formed from aluminum and forged into place; built start to finish in our shop, from our imagination to our hands. 
 
Except for the copper eyes, this art piece was handcrafted entirely from aluminum, this dragon is built to stand as both artwork and functional fire display. Each piece was individually designed, cut, formed, welded into a lifelike pose with wings, claws, and horns. Every piece—from the layered tail to the ribbed wings—is shaped and finished by hand, giving the sculpture a distinct, one-of-a-kind character.
 
The wings articulate allowing for easy posture changes. The wings and head were made to be easily removable for purposes of transport, storage, and maintenance. 
 
The dragon has the ability to roar controlled bursts of fire, as well as puff smoke from its nostrils. While meeting UL standards we were able to make the fuel connections universal in a way that you can adapt a water hose to the fittings and have an awesome water feature instead.. 
 
Unlike factory decor, this isn’t a mass-produced piece. This is functional art — a statement sculpture designed and built by hand in Fort Pierce, Florida by metal artisans Chris Hale and Chris Faga. This sculpture is 1 of 1. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
