This handcrafted steel keepsake box was built entirely by hand at Colonial Metalworks using forged and sculpted steel with an intentionally raw, aged appearance. Twisting forged vines wrap around the exterior while a handmade brass cross sits at the center like an old relic sealed beneath iron roots.
 
Twist the brass cross and the hidden latch mechanism releases the lid, revealing a suede leather-lined interior concealed beneath forged steel and hand-sculpted ironwork. The interaction gives the piece the feeling of an old puzzle box or medieval artifact rather than a simple container.
 
The hinged lid opens with a heavy mechanical feel and the entire piece carries the weight and presence of something ancient and industrial all at once. Tool marks, hammer texture, asymmetry, and forged character are intentionally preserved as part of the design.
